Kundapur, May 23: Unidentified miscreants have stolen Rs 4.5 lacs from a car parked at Siddapur market.

Mohammed Rafi (43), a resident of Haveri district and a trader in chillies, was returning to his hometown with his worker in his car (KA-15-A-4201). The cash was collected from business conducted at Brahmavar market on April 29. He parked the car near Shishila Hotel, Siddapur market, and went for dinner at the hotel.

At about 9:45 pm, unidentified individuals allegedly arrived on a two-wheeler and stole Rs 4.5 lacs kept in the car.

A case has been registered in connection with the theft at Shankernarayana police station.

    who would do such stupidity to keep cash in car that too at night time?? now only CCTV can help to close the case..

    One side sad.Otherside he went to dinner with his worker?Why he kept the money so open that someone could see?Otherside he should have put his money immediately in account,knowing going around with so much money is dangerous. Or kept money by himself in secret pocket that some people have .Miscrants must have followed him withtwo wheeler knowing has money.Some people are only at lookaout of such chances.Hope Police will findout the who was the man?They can take help if any cameras placed around the car .

    @Rita; in third world places nobody with common sense keeps cash or valuables in the car, there are organised gangs which track people to rob them ..... nothing is safe...
