Mangaluru, May 21: Two youths, who arrived from Kerala to the city, befriended a youth from Bantwal and stabbed him on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone and cash at the central railway station of the city on May 20.
According to details, on the evening of May 19, Mohammed Naufal (21), a resident of Kollam district, Kerala, arrived at the Central railway station in Mangaluru along with his friend Anas, and met another individual named Sachin (31), a resident of Poonacha village, Bantwal. They all had dinner and slept near the railway station.
On the morning of May 20, Mohammed Naufal started quarrelling with Sachin, suspecting that he had taken his mobile phone and Rs 1000 cash from his wallet. Sachin denied the allegations made by Mohammed Naufal. In the verbal altercation that followed, Naufal stabbed Sachin in the stomach. Sachin was immediately taken to the hospital and is said to be out of danger.
Naufal was arrested by personnel from the city south police station immediately, and a case has been registered against him.
