Bangalore: Namma Metro to Go Public on Oct 20 at 4 pm

Bangalore, Oct 17: The much-awaited Namma Metro will be made available to the public from October 20 at 4 pm.
The inaugural function of MG Road to Byappanahalli Reach 1 will start at 10.30 am at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground.
Preparations for Namma Metro in full swing
The Namma Metro service will be made available at MG Road station heading towards Byappanahalli and Byappanahaali Station towards MG Road. The trains will have stops at Trinity, Halasuru, Indiranagar and Swami Vivekananda Road for 30 seconds each every 10 minutes.
The purchase of tickets and passenger entry will begin from 3 pm.
The trains will run upto 10 pm and the tickets will be available up to 9.50 pm. The service will start from 6 am in the morning from Byappanahalli and MG Road in each direction. The frequency of the trips will be every 15 minutes between 6 am to 8 am, every 10 minutes between 8 am to 8 pm and again every 15 minutes between 8 pm to 10 pm.
The first line of MG Road to Byappanahalli will be inaugurated by union minister for urban development Kamal Nath, who will flag off the first train.
Chief minister Sadananda Gowda will preside over the function.
Union railways minister Dinesh Trivedi, union minster of state for railways K H Muniyappa, union minster for labour and employment Mallikarjuna Kharge, former chief minister of Karnataka Dharam Singh, Japanese ambassador Akitaka Saiki and union minister for corporate affairs M Veerappa Moily will be present.
