Bantwal, May 20: An accident between a rickshaw and a bike resulted in the rickshaw overturning, causing a passenger to be thrown onto the road. The passenger sustained serious injuries and later died in the hospital. The incident occurred in Panemangaluru on the evening of Monday, May 20.

The deceased has been identified as Altaf (18), a resident of Sajeepa. The accident happened when the rickshaw was traveling from B C Road, and the bike was coming from Panemangaluru. The rickshaw driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.

CCTV footage captured the moment when the passenger was thrown onto the road as the rickshaw overturned.

Altaf sustained severe head injuries from the impact. He was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru, but despite efforts, the treatment was unsuccessful, and he succumbed to his injuries.

The Melkar traffic police responded to the incident promptly and have registered a case.
