Mangalore, Oct 11: Derik's Chess School will organize the second edition of Chess Association of India's (CAI) National Under-10 and Under-14 Boys and Girls Chess Championship on behalf of Karnataka State Chess Association. The  competitions will be held from Sunday October 16 to Thursday October 20 at Lobo's Riverview here at Morgansgate.

A total prize of Rs 3 lac will be dispersed in Under-10 and Under-14 boys category. The winners will be given 1 lac each in this category. In girls category each winner will be given Rs 50 thousand.

Players from CAI affiliated state units, academies are participating in the event. It first time ever chess Tourney Karnataka to be organized in a resort ambience.

Perticipants will achieve CAI ratings, while top local talents will be given opportunity to play for Piloo Modi Chess Tournament with Rs 25 Lac cash prize to be held at Lucknow during December this year.

Top two players in each category will be eligible to participate in the National ‘A’ chess tournament.
