Mangaluru, Apr 22: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel remarked that since the Congress government took over in the state under chief minister Siddaramaiah, people have been living in an atmosphere of fear throughout the entire state.
Addressing the media on Monday, April 22, he said, "We could hear pro-Pakistan sloganeering during their election victory procession and also in the Vidhana Soudha. When the BJP demanded the arrest of these anti-nationals, Congress failed to do so, resulting in a series of assaults and murders of Hindus.
"Chief Minister Siddaramaiah spoke very lightly about the Hubli murder of Neha. None of them have visited Neha's residence to offer condolences. We demand a CBI probe into the Neha murder case and also urge compensation for the family.
"When the Mangaluru cooker bomb blast case was linked to terrorist activity, D K Shivakumar reprimanded the DGP. Congress also attempted to manipulate the Rameshwaram cafe bomb blast case.
"After Congress came to power, there was an increase in such incidents in the state, and Congress failed to complete probes into any cases that occurred during their tenure. When the BJP was in power, stringent action was taken against the culprits of the Harsha and Praveen Nettaru murders, and compensation was provided to their families.
"Now, during the election, Congress is in nexus with the SDPI and is preparing for elections. Congress is appeasing the Muslims, as mentioned in their manifesto," he said.
He also stated, "I have been touring Kerala in the last few days, and we could see the Modi wave both in Dakshina Kannada and Kerala. Modi's pro-development approach and people-centric schemes have reached the people. Modi has released Rs 2.5 lakh crore for development in the last 10 years.
"The Congress has only offered bomb plans, and the people will respond by giving a 'chombu' to Congress this time around. People will bless BJP and give 'chombu' to Congress.
"During the one year of Congress government, they have not released funds to the BJP MLA constituencies, causing development to come to a halt. Even the guarantees promised have not been implemented properly and have not reached the people. Our state is at risk of going bankrupt within the next year due to these failures. The funds have only reached the doorsteps of Congress leaders, making it seem like an 80% government.
"Under the BJP government, significant development has taken place. NHAI projects and railway stations have been upgraded, NHAI road works are currently under construction, and we are ranked second in the smart city initiative, effectively utilizing funds. Jetty construction, development of the MRPL second and third phases, and the establishment of SEZs have also been accomplished," he said.
BJP candidate Capt Brijesh Chowta, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Y Shetty, and Rajesh Naik, MLC Prathapsimha Nayak, former MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, district BJP general secretary Premananda Shetty and others were present.
