Oman, Oct 10: In information that can bring relief to a section of the people of Kerala origin settled in Oman, it is learnt that Keralites who want to file suits in courts in Kerala and the Supreme Court of India, can do so without the need to travel all the way to their home state.
Rajab Al Kathiri Associates, a law firm operating in Oman, has entered into an agreement with law firms in India dealing with cases in Kerala courts and the Supreme Court, in this connection.
The agreement, which was inked with the specific purpose of helping the Keralites living in that country, makes it possible for these non-resident Indians to file suits even as they continue with their routines in Oman. This saves considerable time and cost for them.
As per the agreement, law firms in India will work on behalf of the litigants in Oman through the above firm. Documents and other papers needed for the same can be submitted at Oman itself, said Sebastian K Jose, legal advisor to Rajab Al Kathiri Associates.
