Udupi, Mar 23: Veronica Cornelio, spokesperson for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for distorting remarks made by Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde.
Cornelio addressed the assertions of BJP leaders regarding Hegde's comments on language in the Lok Sabha, clarifying that Hegde's remarks were based on his experience as an MP and were not directed at any individual. She emphasized that Hegde did not mention the name of any BJP candidate or express intentions to undermine them.
Cornelio further criticized the BJP candidate for failing to fulfill promises made during their tenure as a minister, particularly regarding the distribution of funds and resources to marginalized communities. She asserted that the Congress party has upheld its commitments and implemented pro-people projects, contrasting with the BJP's alleged lack of substantial achievements.
In conclusion, Cornelio urged the public to scrutinize the BJP's record and cautioned against falling for false allegations propagated by the party.
