Mangaluru, Mar 9: In a shining moment of triumph, Dashiel Amanda Concessao, a bright class 12 science student at Presidency School, Mangaluru, has been bestowed with the esteemed Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Award 2023-24 for her exceptional accomplishments in roller skating by the Dakshina Kannada District Administration, zilla panchayat, women and child development department, Dakshina Kannada.
Born in 2006, Dashiel has a keen interest for sports since childhood. Proud parents, Francis Concessao and Doris Concessao, have witnessed Dashiel's journey unfold since she first laced up her skates at the tender age of 4. Under the expert guidance of coach Mohandas K at the Hi-Flyers Skating Club, Mangaluru, Dashiel's dedication to her craft has not gone unnoticed.
Her performances have garnered numerous medals at the district, state, and national levels, adorning Mangaluru City with well-deserved accolades. From the grassroots of local competitions to the grandeur of national as well as international platforms, Dashiel's journey has been one of continuous achievement and pride.
Dashiel Amanda Concessao ahs won 53 district level medals, 38 state level medals, 15 zonal level medals and 41 national level medals. She has won a total of 147 medals at the district, state and national levels. At the international level, she has participated in the Short Track Speed Skating Championship in Philippines in 2018, Short Track Speed Sighting Championship in Belarus in 2019 and Friends Grand Prix International Speed Skating Championship in Belgium in 2019.
As she adds the Hoysala and Keladi Chennamma Award to her list of accolades, Dashiel stands as a shining example of youthful prowess and dedication.
