Ernakulam, Feb 14: Clearing the UPSC examination without coaching is a formidable challenge. Many aspirants struggle to succeed even after enrolling in the best coaching centers. However, there are some individuals who, despite facing financial or other hardships, opt for self-study and manage to crack the rigorous UPSC exam. One such inspiring figure is Sreenath K, from Kerala, who achieved success in the UPSC while working as a porter at the Ernakulam railway station.
Sreenath utilized the free Wi-Fi available at the railway station to prepare for the UPSC exams. Despite being the sole breadwinner of his family, he did not let life's challenges deter him. While continuing his work as a porter, Sreenath diligently prepared for the daunting UPSC examination.
Using the free Wi-Fi, Sreenath downloaded necessary study materials onto his mobile phone. During his free time at the railway station, he would listen to educational videos through earphones and take notes, thus maximizing his study efforts. His success in the Kerala Public Service Commission exams boosted his confidence.
Despite facing disappointment in three previous attempts at the UPSC exam, Sreenath remained undeterred. Instead of being discouraged, each failure fuelled his determination to perform better in the subsequent attempts. Finally, in his fourth attempt, Sreenath successfully cleared the UPSC exam and achieved his dream of becoming an IAS officer.
