Mangaluru, Feb 9: In a proactive operation, the Mangaluru North Division Drug Squad apprehended two individuals attempting to sell 19 grams of Methamphetamine, valued at Rs 57,000, at Bondel ground within the jurisdiction of Kavoor police station at 9 am on Feb 9.
The arrested suspects, identified as Hima Neesh (26) from Mangaluru and Pavan Raj (28) from Tarepadpu, Kotekar, were found in possession of the illicit substance, concealed in plastic covers, during a public encounter. A case has been registered against them for the sale of ganja under crime registration No. 21/2024, section 8C21 b, 27b NDPS Act.
The arrest operation was carried out under the guidance and direction of DCPs Siddartha and Dinesh Kumar (crime and traffic) and led by Mangaluru North Sub Division ACP Manoj Kumar Nayak. The entire North Sub Division Police staff, under the supervision of Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, played a pivotal role in executing the operation effectively.
