Udupi, Feb 6: The district executive committee meeting of the BJP was held on Tuesday, February 6 at Sharada Kalyana Mantapa Kunjibettu under the presidentship of district president Kishore Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, leader of opposition of Karnataka legislative council, Kota Srinivasa Poojary said, “India is the sixth biggest economy of the world today. We have the strength to face China. India is free of open defecation due to the Swacch Bharat Abhiyaan. When I was district in-charge minister for Uttara Kannada 14,000 houses did not have electricity. We gave electricity to all houses."
“Siddaramaiah government is surviving because of blaming the union government. They have not done anything else. In Mandya, devotees spent Rs 6.5 lac of their own money and built a flagpost. When they hoisted the saffron flag it was removed. In addition, the BJP workers were lathicharged. This fight is not limited only to Congress or BJP. The situation in Karnataka is creating a rift between the Hanuman flag and the Tipu flag,” he said.
Rajesh G V, chief organising secretary of state BJP said, “PM Modi said that I will not do any work that will make my party workers ashamed while campaigning for the next Lok Sabha elections. Elections of 2024 are of prime importance. We have got good leadership. Our 10 years of rule was excellent. We do not have any challenges. Any organisation like RSS can be prohibited but cannot be destroyed."
“All BJP workers will have the ambition to become a MP or a MLA. But this should not be disclosed with media or other workers. This should be discussed with senior leaders of the party,” he said.
MLA Yashpal Suvarna, Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Kishore Kumar, Shilpa G Suvarna, Kuyiladi Suresh Nayak and Naveen Shetty were present.
