Udupi, Dec 16: In a concerted effort to curb the proliferation of fake doctors in the district, health department officials conducted raids and inspections at various locations, uncovering deficiencies in clinics and laboratories.
A team, led by Udupi taluk authority and health officials, visited Dr Dhanvantari Clinic in Adi Udupi. A case was registered as A R Acharya, registered as an ayurvedic clinic, was found providing allopathic treatment.
Kundapur taluk authority, along with health officials, raided Dr Nambiar Clinic in Navunda. Prajeet S Nambiar, registered in the ayurvedic system, faced charges for providing treatment in the allopathic system.
During inspections, Kundapur taluk authority and health officials discovered that Lata Sunil K was operating Sushma Clinical Lab in Uppunda without a license. The lab was seized, and a case was registered.
In a joint inspection led by Udupi taluk authority, the taluk health officer, district health and family welfare officer, and district family welfare officer found Sandesh Rao running an unregistered clinic in Aroor. The clinic was seized, and a case was registered.
In another instance, a team from Kundapur taluk authorities and health officials uncovered a lab technician without a state registration certificate at Biolin Lab in Kundapur. An FIR was filed in this case.
The public is urged to exercise caution and avoid seeking treatment from bogus or unregistered doctors.
