Bangalore, Sep 7: Former minister G Janardhana Reddy who has been arrested for his involvement in the mining scam now reportedly claims to have paid a huge lump sum of money to a few Bharatiya Janata Party’s top leaders both national and state to keep his illegal mining business on the run.
Reddy has also given out a few names of top shots during the talk with Central bureau of Investigation(CBI) officials. The CBI officials had visited Reddy’s cell on Tuesday September 7 and were taken aback by his revelation. The CBI have sought for permission from the court to take Reddy into custody for further investigation and questioning.
Reddy claimed to have paid the BJP leaders through cheques and had also seen to it that the money was transferred to their respective bank accounts.
However, the CBI officials do not have a recorded statement of his revelation. Once the court grants them the permission they sought, then as per reports they will take Reddy into custody and record his statement along with conducting further investigation.
Sources say that Reddy also alleged that his wife G Aruna Lakshmi, Karunakara Reddy and Sriramulu also were involved in the mining scam by paying huge sums to the BJP leaders. Meanwhile, the Reddy brothers got together along with Sriramulu and Janardhana’s followers to provide moral support to Lakshmi.
It is also gathered that the Reddy brothers have begun preparations for a ‘Maha Mruthyunjaya Homa’ to be held soon aiming at seeking divine intervention for Janardhan Reddy’s release. The homa might start as early as Thursday.
