Beltangady, Dec 4: In a disturbing incident reported from Thotattadi Village in Beltangady, Santosh C K (36), a resident, has filed a complaint with the Dharmasthala Police Station against a group of individuals, including his father-in-law, for alleged assault on December 3.
According to the complaint, when Santosh visited his garden at Cherakil, Beltangady taluk, Thotattadi Village, he was confronted by his father-in-law, Sunny (accused), brother-in-law Soni, and Soni's wife. The accused arrived at the plaintiff's house on a motorcycle, forcibly entered the yard, and inquired about the plaintiff's mother, who was sitting in the yard at the time.
The situation escalated when accused Sunny allegedly pushed the plaintiff's mother. Responding to the commotion, the plaintiff's father-in-law, Sanni, arrived at the scene and reportedly attempted to attack the plaintiff's mother with a sword. Subsequently, Sunny, Soni, and his wife physically assaulted the plaintiff, while Monsi, the plaintiff's wife, allegedly urged others not to spare him.
The accused, after issuing threats, eventually left the premises. The complainant, Santosh, has been admitted to Beltangady Government Hospital for treatment.
The complaint has been registered under Act 97/2023 Section: 448, 323, 324, 504, 506, along with 34 IPC. Dharmasthala Police Station is actively investigating the matter to ascertain the facts and bring the perpetrators to justice.
