Udupi: Karnataka NRI Forum Celebrates Eid, Chaturthi with Special Children

Udupi, Sep 4: Karnatake NRI Forum, Jeddah organized a programme to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitra and Ganesha Chathurti at Asha Nilaya special children’s school here on Friday September 2.

Area chairman and Presbyter in charge of CSI Jubilee Church Goldin Bangera inaugurated the celebrations. He lauded the efforts of the organizers for the unique style of celebrating Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi.

Managing director Vishwas Bawa Builders, Mangalore Abdul Rauf Puttige was the chief guest. He appreciated the desire of the NRI members from Jeddah to serve their homeland.
 
Speaking on the occasion Lions district governor Jayakar Shetty Indrali urged people to spend time with special children to understand values in life. He welcomed the initiative taken by the Forum.

Hassan Asif, who is a member of Special Olympic medal winning Indian football team and a National Body Building Champion in special children category was the special guest at the occasion. Asif's father Basheer, spoke about the ways to deal with special children and urged parents having such children to love their children instead of cursing them and to identify  their interest and work hard on improving them.

President of Karnataka NRI Forum Mohammad Mansoor presided. He called upon everyone to respect each other and help the needy and less privileged people. Treasurer of Karnataka NRI forum S M Jaffer welcomed the gathering and  briefed about the motto of the organization.

The forum donated uniforms to more than 85 students.

MET Public School teacher Nafeesathul Misriya compered.
