Udupi, Dec 1: Ace swimmer Ronnan Prine Lewis, who is just 17-years-old, created record in India Book of Records by covering 50 meters of distance underwater in the least amount of time.
Certificate in this regard was handed over to Ronnan by Jayakara Shetty Indrali, president of Udupi district cooperative union in the press conference that was called in the city on Friday. Ronnan is the son of Roshan Lewis and Shaila Lewis, residents of Brahmagiri in the city.
Ronnan did this achievement in the swimming pool of Mangala Stadium in the month of September. He covered the distance of 50 meters under water in 54 seconds. He is first PU student of St Cecily’s PU College of the city.
Ronnan is coached by Chandrashekhar Shetty and Gopala Kharvi. Ronnan is planning to create Guinness record of covering 250 meters distance underwater. He is getting trained for the same. This information was provided by Jayakara Shetty Indrali.
