Kundapur, Nov 29: “The Udupi district Souhardha sports festival titled ‘Udupi zilla Souhardha Sahakari Kreedotsava, Souhardha Sambrama 2023’ will be held under the joint aegis of Udupi Zilla Souhardha Sahakari Okkoota and Karnataka state Souhardha Samyukta Sahakari Bengaluru at Hangarkatte Chetana school sports ground at 9.30 am on December 2”, said Manjunath S K, director of Karnataka Federal cooperative, Bengaluru during the news conference at Saligrama on Tuesday.
“Three thousand people including presidents of 150 Souhardha cooperative societies, chief executives and staff, pygmy collectors and staff are expected to participate in the meet. Seven zones will be created out of Kaup, Udupi, Brahmavar, Byndoor, Hebri, Karkala and Kundapur taluks and volleyball, throwball, relay, tug-over-war, 100 meters and 200 meters race, shot put, long jump and musical chairs competitions will be held for men and women”, he said.
“SCDCC bank president M N Rajendra Kumar will light the lamp and Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna will inaugurate the sports festival. State Federal Cooperative director Manjunath S K will preside over the programme.”
“Souhardha cooperative state president Nanjan Gowda and others will be present. Sports committee felicitations will be convened by its convener, Ashok Prabhu Sahebrukatte at 12.30 pm. The prize distribution will be presided over at 4 pm by vice president Madhusoodan Naik. The concluding programme at 5 pm will be chaired by Souhardha cooperative district president Jagannath Shetty”, he said.
“The district Souhardha cooperative has been a role model for the state. The rare programme is being held for the third time. The district Souhardha cooperative has already included most of the things from the central cooperative and is functioning smoothly”, said Manjunath S K.
Sports convener Ashok Prabhu Sahebrakatte, Souhardha cooperative district president Amparu Jagannath Shetty, district Souhardha Sahakari Okkooa CEO Lohith, development officer Vijaya and others were present.
