Mangaluru, Nov 21: A youth, who went to swim with his friends, drowned in the river near Maravoor bridge on Monday.

The deceased is identified as Shakir (27), a resident of Krishnapura Chokkabettu.

It is learnt that he was an auto-rickshaw driver.

A case in this connection is registered in Kavoor police station.
