Mangaluru, Nov 20: Children's Day was celebrated at St Joseph the Worker's Church, Neermarga under the joint aegis of commission for Christian education and commission for families on November 19.

The High Mass was celebrated with liturgy conducted by children. After the Mass, a group photo session was conducted for children from 1st grade to 10th grade, followed by grade wise sports and games.

A stage programme was held later in which Fr Paul Pinto the parish priest; Zita Usha Fernandes, the pastoral committee secretary; and Sr Doris AC from Carmel Ashram were present on the dais.

Benedicta Machado, Christian education coordinator had managed the overall programme with the help of all Catechism teachers. A felicitating song was presented by parents and teachers in honour and acclamation of children. Prizes were given away by the parish priest and Sr Doris to the winners of various competitions.

Jacinta Pereira compered the programme, Benedicta Machado welcomed the gathering, Celestine Saldana delivered vote of thanks, all children were served with breakfast comprising fruit juice, snacks and ice-cream..
