Udupi, Nov 18: A cake mixing ceremony was held at the well-known ‘Manipal Inn’ hotel and convention centre. The event was held in Manipal Inn hotel and convention centre located at Karavali bypass.
Fr Anil D’Souza, parish priest Our Lady of Fathima church, Perampally along with Fr Anthony and Deacon Rickson kick-started the event by mixing the dry fruits, nuts, and spices along with alcohol and liquorices.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Anil D'souza said, “It is a beautiful ceremony. I congratulate Manipal Inn for hosting. Christmas is fast approaching. This get-together is a celebration. This is the first time I am witnessing such an event. May God bless this ceremony and Manipal Inn."
Dolphy Mascarenhas, managing director of the Hot Chix chain of restaurants speaking about the significance of cake mixing said, “It is a very traditional celebration of welcoming the harvest season. Today at the Manipal Inn hotel and convention centre this ceremony was held which is one of the unique celebrations for the coastal region as only the premium hotels organize such an event. These fruits, nuts, and dry fruits are soaked in various alcohols for about 20 days and will be used in making the Christmas cakes. The cakes will be available for pre booking and will be delivered from December 20 onwards at the Manipal Inn Hotel and Convention Centre."
Manoj, manager operations Umesh Poojary, executive chef Gauri Shankar, chef staff, vloggers from Manipal, well-wishers were present.
Manipal Inn hotel and convention center is located at Karavali bypass on NH66. It is an 8 storied building with a 24x7 open restaurant with state-of-the-art Italian and western cuisine. It also has a wide and spacious convention centre for various occasions.
