Sujith Rodrigues elected president of Konkani Cultural Association (KCA UK)

Manchester, Nov 13: Konkani Cultural Association (KCA UK) unanimously elected Sujith Rodrigues as its president during the annual general body meeting held on October 14 at St Kentigerns Church hall, Manchester, UK.

The meeting began with a short prayer invoking blessings of the almighty. Former president Marina Monis welcomed the gathering present at the hall. Marina appreciated the ex-committee members for their relentless service offered during their term. The committee members were congratulated for a successful tenure for 2 years of leadership and service to the community.



The annual report of the past two years was presented by the outgoing secretary Vinod Barboza. The accounts for the financial years 2021-23 were read out by Ronald Lobo and the approval was sought from the general body. The elections for the new committee were conducted by Marina Monis.

The elected executive committee of KCA UK for the year 2023-25 is as follows:

President: Sujth Rodrigues
Vice President: James Ravi Pinto
Secretary: Sonal Jenisha Mendonca
Cultural Secretary: Santhosh Pinto
Treasurer: Ronald Lobo
Communications Coordinator: Marina Monis

Addressing the General Body of KCA, Sujith Rodrigues congratulated the newly elected committee and conveyed his gratitude towards Marina and ex-committee members. He thanked the general body for this opportunity and promised to uphold the legacy of KCA. Also, he sought active support from the members and expressed his desire to make KCA a stronger association of Konkani speakers in the United Kingdom and take KCA to newer heights for the betterment of the community.

The meeting concluded with a prayer and thanksgiving hymn.
