10,000 killed, shame on govts' supporting destruction: Priyanka on Gaza situation

New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday hit out at the international community over the death of 10,000 people, including 5,000 children, in the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza, saying there was no shock to the conscience of those supporting the genocide.

In a post on X, Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress general secretary said, "What a deplorable and disgraceful milestone…over 10,000 people killed in Gaza of which almost half are children. One child is being killed every ten minutes according to the WHO, and now tiny babies had to be removed from their incubators due to lack of oxygen and were left to die."

Hitting out at international community, she said, "Still, no shock to the conscience of those supporting this genocide, no ceasefire…just more bombs, more violence, more killings and more suffering. Shame on the governments supporting this destruction. When is it going to be enough?"

Her remarks came after more than 10,000 people have been killed in Gaza since Israel launched its military offensive almost a month ago.

Israel declared war on Hamas after the Islamist militant group launched a brutal attack on October 7, killing 1,400 people in Israel and kidnapping more than 240. Israel retaliated by launching an air and ground offensive on Gaza, vowing to eliminate the militant group.

Earlier, India abstained from voting on the Jordan-drafted resolution that called for a truce in Israel but did not condemn Hamas's attack.

India voted in favour of an amendment proposed by Canada to insert a paragraph condemning Hamas.

Priyanka Gandhi had earlier also said that she was "shocked and ashamed" that our country has abstained from voting for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Why was she "shocked and ashamed" when we abstained from voting for a ceasefire? She should understand that ceasefire is made between two warring nations, not when the war is against terrorists. This war is against Hamas, a terrorist organisation and not against Palestine. Even the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has refrained from condemning Israeli action against Hamas.

Indeed Hamas started it and they must pay for it, by all accounts. It killed innocent people in terror act, in Israel so, there is a price it has to pay. But, for the crimes of terror org Hamas, making entire Palestine pay a price, is absolutely ridiculous argument. Much more rediculous now than ever because, Israel controls all the borders of palestine. Every man, material and money movement to Palestine, is watched over by Israel with its highly sophisticated, technically advanced, inteligence and defense systems, for a decade now. How Hamas aquaired so much weapons right under its nose, is the question world is asking. And secondly, why a common palestinian baby or citizen pay for the crimes of hamas, who has nothing to do with it.

I am a Congress supporter, but in this case I fully support Israel. The Iran is waging proxy war in Yemen, Iraq, KSA, Lebanon and in gazha, Israel. What a heinous, barbaric and shameless acts of Islamic Jehad and Iran backed Hizbullah terrorists shielding children and hospitals to launch rocket attacks and ammunition depots. Do the Islamic countries have vowed to Muhammad to wipe out Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhiists, Sikhs and Jain's from the face of the earth?! All humans must have knowledge of history that no humans can wipe out Hindus, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhiists, Jains and Sikhs from the face of the earth except God alone. He/God is/was in full control. Surely Israel will achieve its goal and be a victor in this war.

Dear Mrs Priyanka Ghandhi, An estimated 85,000 children under five may have died from extreme hunger in Yemen since a Saudi-led coalition intervened in the civil war in 2015. The number of deaths are far more than the present conflict. That too a cruel slow death out of Hunger. That did not move your concience. it was Houthies vs Saudis so no benefit in commenting in X. It would be antagonising a section of people here if you comment because it is war between sunni led Saudis against a iran backed Houthies. So it seems like posting for a vote Bank. It is true that there is lot of visciousness in this war. Hamas are responsible for this war. They are hiding behind those soft targets. Until israel finds all those Bunkers and Tunnels which Hamas have secretly built, they are not going to stop. This is because a ceasefire would only mean the terror infrastructure built by Hamas inside Gaza will continue to exist. This will pose a great danger to Israelis and potentially multiple rocket attacks from the Gaza side. So no matter what they will continue because they are fighting an existential threat. Read the Hamas charter which calls for extermination.

Who started this nonsense? Hamas attacked unarmed Israeli civilians. So this is tit for tat. Hamas is holding Gaza population as human shield. Gaza residents should not support Hamas or any other terrorist organisation. Congress is just trying to appease muslims in India. Thats why people rejected it. In Karnataka they got power due to stupid freebees. Congress is reponsible for Modi's growth and congress is allowing BJP to increase their vote share by stupid comments.
