Tel Aviv, Nov 10 (IANS): The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), an off-shoot of the Hamas group, has said that it would release two hostages soon.
The PIJ had earlier released a video of two hostages in custody -- an elderly woman and a young boy.
The woman was identified as Hannah Katzir (75) and the boy as Yagil Yakkov (14).
Both the woman and the boy were kidnapped from Nir Oz Kibbutz on October 7.
The two were seen speaking against the policies of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which the Israeli side dismissed as part of the psychological warfare by the terror outfit.
It was earlier reported that Hamas held 180 people hostage while PIJ held 40 others as hostages.
The remaining 22 are with certain other groups, according to the Israeli intelligence agencies.
