Uttara Kannada, Oct 7: Shruthi Taragodu, a native of Siddapura, now living in Bengaluru make attractive ornaments from handicrafts. She started this as a hobby when during her post-delivery time. Now she has become an expert ornament maker.
Shruthi, an LLB garduate, used to make necklace, bangles and bracelets while taking care of her newborn baby. Her fame spread through word of mouth and she is earning Rs 60000 per month now.
The ornaments that Shruthi makes from pearls, cloth, coloured stones and other things are in great demand. In addition to ornaments, Shruthi also makes handbags. The speciality of terracotta jewellery made by Shruthi is that she does not heat the material like others do. Similarly, she also makes spring items and lock system type new experiments that attracts the younger generation.
