Mangaluru, Sep 30: Bajpe police arrested two burglars in connection to two house thefts incidents.
The arrested accused are identified as Tausif Ahmed (34) from Bokkapatna and Mohammed Faraz (27) from Kasba Bengre. A team led Bajpe police station PSI Gurappa Kanti arrested the duo near Kuduremukh junction KIOCL bus stand, Panambur on September 29.
The accused had broken into the house of Sadashiva Poojary in Addoor on January 13 earlier this year and also Sadashiva Savanth house in Badagulipadi on March 26, 2021 and decamped with valuables.
The police seized Rs 4.5 lac worth jewellery weighing 75 grams stolen by them from the two houses. The police have taken into custody Rs 50,000 worth bike used by them for the thefts.
Cases in Mangaluru city, Panambur police station, Mangaluru north police station, Mangaluru south police station, Bantwal town police station and Udupi city police stations are registered against the two accused.
The arrest operation was conducted under the leadership of Mangaluru north sub division ACP Manoj Kumar and Bajpe station inspector Gururaj, in-charge by Bajpe station PSI Guruppa Kanti, PSI Revana Siddappa, PSI Kumareshan, PSI Latha, staff ASI Rama Poojary Meremajalu, Rashid Shaikh, Sujan, Durga Prasad Shetty, Manjunath, Basavaraj Patil, Jagadish, Dayanand, Madhu, Anil, Kenchappa and forensic experts PSI M C Badigera and staff VP Mannikeri under directions from DCPs Siddarth Goel and Dinesh Kumar and under guidance from police commissioner Anupam Agarwal.
