Al Abdaliyah, Sep 25: Kuwait Brahmavar Welfare Association (KBWA) along with their families celebrated the feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary at KabdChalet on Friday, September 15.
The festivity began with warm welcome by Roshan D’Souza, followed by singing the theme song of the association by group members. The celebration commenced with invocation to God through prayer service led by Gretta D’Souza and Chetana Menezes.
The statue of mother Mary and new harvest was taken in procession with utmost devotion. All children with flowers and elders joined the procession and gathered around Mother Mary’s statue to offer her flowers in adoration and this was a sight to behold.The members led the community with their beautiful rendition of hymns Sakkad Sangata Melyan and Moriyek Hogolsiya.
Committee & senior members presided the celebration by lighting the lamp and thereafter blessed Novem in milk was distributed to all those who were present in symbolic gesture of thanksgiving.
A formal welcome speech was addressed by President, Oswald D’souza who emphasized on the significance of Monthi Fest & with grateful heart he thanked all the members who committed their precious time and liveliness in preparing the traditional novemjevan and for and all those who made an effort into making the event a memorable one.

Also,on this occasion, members of KBWA, Wilfred/Gladys D'Silva and Alwin Lewis were felicitated and lauded for their remarkable support since the initiation of the association who are returning back to their hometown after spending several years in Kuwait.
Traditional lunch was served to everyone that was cooked by members themselves at the venue under direction of Gretta D'Souza. Several vegetarian delicacies like Alun Dento, Tendli-chana, beans, Kuvalo Bafat, Karathen, Vorn and Brahmavar’s customary fish curry was relished by all. Lunch was culminated with all singing Laudate.
The program was hosted by emcee Roshan D'Souza and he kept everyone entertained with numerous spot games.
Melwin Barnes captured beautiful moments of the entire event.
The audience enjoyed the tunes of various songs and the event ended on a high note with Baila dancing.
The unity, dedication and immense support of the entire KBWA group joined as one family led to the grand success of this memorable event in sharing the joy and happiness.
