Mumbai: Gopalakrishna Public Trust celebrates Ganeshotsava

Mumbai, Sep 25: Gopalakrishna Public trust set into motion three day long Ganeshotsava under the cooperation of B S K B Association on Tuesday. The rituals were conducted under the leadership of Vedamurthi Ganesh Bhat under the supervision of Vaman Holla and Jayalakshni Holla couple.

The idol of Ganesha was brought in procession on September 18 and kept in the podium. Vedamurthi Ganesh Bhat installed the idol with Mangalarathi on Tuesday. Ganahoma was held for the next two days under the supervision of Avinash Shastri and Shamala Shastri couple and Lakshminarayana Shivattaya and Nirmala Shivattaya couple. The priests lit Mangalarati. The public arati was held under the leadership of the Youth wing by singing traditional Ganaesh Arati songs.

Gokula Bhajana Mandali, Gopakakrishna Bhajana Mandali, Vittal Bhajana Mandali, Madwesha Bhajana Mandali and Harikrishna Bhajana Mandali sang bhajans. Sooraj performed magic show, Revati Srinivasan and pupils performed Bhatata Natya, Ranjan Debanath sang devotional songs, Reshma Shetty performed Bharata Natya, Vidwan Pradesh Acharya, Harish Poojary, Venkatesh and Padmaraj Upadyaya gave a musical instrument performance. Yogesh displayed a doll’s item. More than 40 children took part in the drawing competition conducted by the youth wing for children between the age of 6 and 15. President of the sangha, Dr Suresh S Rao distributed the prizes.

The idol was immersed in the premises of Gokula on September 21 after the evening Arati on September 21. Theertha and Laddoos were distributed to all the devotees who came to the temple for three days.
