Mangaluru, Aug 29: Onam was celebrated in all its grandeur and glory at Expert PU College, Valachil. Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions; Ankush N Nayak, IT director, Expert Group of Institutions and Deepika A Nayak, architect lit the festive lamp which marked the commencement of the celebration of Onam.
Prof Nayak conveyed his Onam greetings to the staff and the students. Pookkalam (floral design) was the main highlight of the programme. The traditional dance form of Onam season viz ‘Thiruvathirakkali’ was performed by teachers, in front of the floral design. Members of the staff and the management donned the traditional attire.
Raghavendra Shenoy, vice principal (administration) and the members of the staff were present on the occasion. Anitha P Shetty from the department of English briefed on the significance of Onam celebration.
