Udupi, Aug 27: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, organized an orientation programme for the newly joined BE students at the institute premises on Sunday August 27.
The primary objective of the programme was to make the parents and students aware of the academic matters of the BE course, to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the institute and to ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students, hence contributing to the overall growth of a student.
The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Prof B S Revankar, former director, NITK-STEP. In his address, shared his professional life experiences. He insisted the students set the goal and work accordingly. He also urged the parents to encourage students to achieve their success in the field of their interest.
P Srinivas Tantry, vice-president of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, presided over the ceremony. Principal of SMVITM, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the major accomplishments in academics and extra-curricular fields of the institute. Few parents shared their expectations on this occasion.
The chief guest honoured the CET toppers. Rathnakumar, secretary Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, expressed his gratitude to the parents and students for having faith and confidence in the institution and assured that the college and the management are bound to give the best education to the students.
Vice-principal Dr Ganesh Aithal and first year BE programme coordinator Dr Ravindra H J were present on the dais.
Dr Lolita Priya Castelino, HOD of mathematics, introduced B S Revankar. Dr Ravindra H J, first-year coordinator & HOD, department of physics, proposed vote of thanks. The programme started with an invocation by Adithya Deshpande, and faculty members of the institution, Soundrya, and Sachin Prabhu K, compeered the programme.
