Mumbai, August 10: Kannada Sangha Santacruz celebrated the month of Ashada at Rajayog Auditorium, Kherwadi, Bandra east on Wednesday evening.
Billavara association Mumbai president Harish G Ameen inaugurated and President of Kannada Sanga Santacruz, Sujatha R Shetty presided over the programme.
Kannada Sangha Santacruz honorary president L V Ameen, Billava Chamber of Commerce and Industries president N T Poojary, director Purushotham S Kotian, Bunts Sangha Mumbai ladies wing joint treasurer Rathna P Shetty, promoter of the sangha Sooraj Sadananda Safaliga and others were present. Sujatha Shetty and L V Ameen felicitated them with flower bouquets.
L V Ameen said that it is praiseworthy for Kannada Sangha to drink bitter Kashaya during the Ati new moon day before the celebrations. Vice president of the Sangha Doddaguthu Bhujanga R Shetty said that this is an opportunity to relish various local delicacies prepared at home. N T Poojary said that celebrations like these are an inspiration for future generation.
Honorary chief secretary of the sangha, Jaya V Poojary and Sujatha Shetty spoke on the context. Sujatha Shetty remembered former vice president of the sangha, proprietor of Rajyog hotel who passed away.
