Mangaluru: Session on drug awareness held at St Agnes PU College

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Substance abuse and in particular, drug abuse is an increasing menace among the youth today. Drug use among the youngsters has snowballed into a serious problem ruining the lives of many. To spread awareness and provide guidance to teachers to help combat this problem among students.

Lydia Lobo, administrator, Link Anti Addiction Centre was invited as a resource person. She spoke about addiction to alchohol, cigarettes, natural and synthetic drugs and their ill effect on the health and life of individuals and families through various instances. She also explained the routine followed in the treatment of addicts at the de-addiction centre.

Dr P V Shobha, HoD of Hindi, welcomed and introduced the resource person who was greeted by the principal Sr Norine D'Souza with flowers.

All the teaching staff were present for the talk at the end of which Lovina Aranha, Departemnt of Commerce proposed a vote of thanks.
