Mumbai, Jul 25: Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra (KaPaSaMa) has announced the annual K T Venugopal-KaPaSaMa National Madhyamshree - 2022 and 2023 awards that Lawrence Coelho, editor of Divo Konkani weekly in Mumbai was selected for the Fourth Award and Senior Journalist Sanathkumar Belagali from Jamkhandi of Bagalkote district, Karnataka for the Fifth Award KaPaSaMa said in a release.
The decision of the recently held executive committee meeting of the journalists association and the award selection committee was chaired by Dr Suneetha M. Shetty and co-members of the jury, Sa.Daya (Dayanand) and Gopal Trasi have selected senior journalists like Lawrence Coelho and Sanath Kumara Belagali, the KaPaSaMa said in a release.
The award is presented annually in association with the family of Vikas Venugopal, son of the late K T Venugopal and with the fund of KaPaSaMa, which carries a cash prize of Rupees 25,000/- (Twenty Five Thousand) a certificate and a memento.
First Award (2019) was awarded Mumbai’s senior journalist Vasant Kalakoti. The second award (2020) was awarded to a senior journalist in Mumbai G K Ramesh and the Third Award (2021) was awarded to Achyuta M Chevar, a senior journalist from Kasaragod, Kerala.
Kapasama honorary general secretary Sa Daya (Dayanand) and Jt secretary Savita S Shetty said in the announcement that this award will be presented in the presence of dignitaries at the award ceremony organized under the president ship of the Rons Bantwal (president KaPaSaMa) on Sunday, August 6th in the morning at Lotus Hall, Solitary Corporate Park, Andheri East Mumbai.
