Bengaluru, Jun 6: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly condemned the BJP, which failed in keeping its promises in Delhi and in the State, for protesting against the Guarantees unveiled by the Congress government as per its pre-poll promises.

"BJP has no moral right to stage any protest,’’ he said speaking to media persons near Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday after paying homage to late Chief Minister Devaraj Urs.

Siddaramaiah said BJP hadpromised to waive off the loans and provide 10 hours of electricity, but nothing was implemented. They never implemented the assurances they gave to the people, he said just as the Narendra Modi regime in Delhi.

BJP is Anti-People

Terming BJP as an anti-people party, the Chief Minister said when BJP as in power, they looted the state and brought a bad name.

"Our government has made a sincere effort to implement all the 5 guarantees within 15 days. We have fulfilled 158 out of 165 promises while in power,’’ he said lashing out at the BJP for closing Indira canteen and stopping several welfare schemes implemented by our Government.

Siddaramaiah planted a sapling at Vidhana Soudha premisesinn memory Devaraj Urs to mark his death anniversary.

The Chief Minister explained that the sapling is from Madagascar and stays evergreen. It is a special plant that grows about 40 feet tall and prevents pollution, he added.

Siddaramaiah said the Gruhajyothi scheme is applicable to all domestic users, including tenants, if their monthly average power consumption is within 200 units. The commercial buildings, however, are not eligible for the benefit, he said.
