Landslides Due to Intense Rain – Train Movements Affected

M’lore/B’lore/Mumbai, Jul 18: Due to heavy rains, the Bangalore-Mangalore and Konkan Railway movements have been badly affected as there were landslides and boulders’ fall on their routes.

Several boulders have been rolled-down at Edakumeri which is between Kadagara village and Donigal in the Bangalore-Mangalore road, due to which the movement of Yashawanthapur-Kannur Express was hindered.

The train which was started from Bangalore on Saturday July 16 was stopped at Hasan-Kannur route and the commuters were sent in bus. On Sunday July 17 the train passed through Mangalore instead of Kannur route, according to sources.

Mumbai Trains

Due to landslides which occurred at Sindhudurga and Kudala route, the movement of trains which were coming to Mangalore and going towards Mumbai were slowed down. The Lokamanyatilak – Thiruvanantapuram’s Netravati Express was delayed for about 12 hours.The Matsyagandha Express which was supoposed to Come to Mangalore was delayed by 9 hours.Mumbai-Mangalore Junction Express too was late by 7 hours.
