Kaup, Jun 5: Villagers living in nearby areas of Innanje of the taluk met union minister Shobha Karandlaje and submitted an appeal requesting stoppage of Mumbai and Bengaluru bound trains at Innanje railway station.
In the appeal, the villagers urged, “Though Innanje railway station is upgraded, only one local train is stopping in this station. The long standing demand of people of this area for stoppage of Bengaluru and Mumbai bound trains is not fulfilled. Though there is stoppage for two local trains, only one is stopping at present. Most of the people of this area are dependent on Mumbai and Bengaluru for business and employment.
“So in order to make their trip more convenient trains bound to Bengaluru and Mumbai should be given stoppage at Innanje,” the villagers stated in the appeal.
