Kasargod, Jul 17: Two persons were arrested by the police from Guruvayur for trying to convert black coloured paper into original dollars.
The two accused are Nekraje Chenadka Veetil’s P A Nazar (39) and his brother-in-law Vellipady Veetil’s Abdulla(40).
The police team headed by assistant commissioner S Sridharan has arrested the duo. They have seized a car and five black papers from the accused. While the police were examining the vehicles at Guruvayur they stopped a vehicle which was moving in a suspicious manner and hence the scam was exposed.
According to the information given by the police, PA Nazar was employed in Kolli. On those days he developed a friendship with Nigerian citizen Frank. Once when Nazar had come down to his home town, Frank invited him to Goa. On his Goa’s visit, Frank thought him the art of converting the black paper into dollars by using some chemicals. When Nazar gave the same converted notes in the bank, he received good amount of Indian currency for that.
Impressed and greatly influenced by the magic, Nazar bought 480 black papers and chemicals from Frank by giving him 12 lacs.
After obtaining that money Frank was never available to Nazar despite his continuous attempts to call him. Hence in order to get one more chemical required to transform the black paper into dollar, Nazar was traveling with brother-in-law Abdulla to Guruvayur in car where the police arrested them.
