Mangaluru, May 26: The inaugural function of second international conference on “Recent Trends in Mechanical Engineering Sciences, RTIMES-2023” was held on May 26 at Srinivas Institute of Technology, Mangaluru.
The international conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr G C Mohan Kumar, dean, faculty welfare & in-charge director, NITK, Surathkal, Mangaluru. The programme was presided by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, patron and principal of College. Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde, conference chair of RTIMES 2023, Dr Shankar KS, conference Chair of RTIMES 2023 and Dr Lokesh V, organizing secretary of RTIMES 2023 were present.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr G C Mohan Kumar briefed about the need for more collaborative research in interdisciplinary areas and knowledge sharing. In his key note address, he explained about how ancient people used advanced technologies in building pyramids and role of mechanical engineering sciences in biomedical field.
Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D in his presidential address highlighted the importance of conferences in research and development and how publishing and presenting of papers will improve that research work. Also he advised the participants to attend the conference to get ideas and recent development in technologies.
The inaugural function was started with an invocation by Prashant, student from Department of Marine Engineering followed by the lighting lamp. Dr Lokesh V, organizing secretary of RTIMES 2023 presented the schedule of events that were lined up for the conference. Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde, conference chair of RTIMES 2023 welcomed the chief guest, dignitaries, and all the participants. Prof Jayaram Tumbe department of Mechanical Engineering introduced the chief guest. Dr Shankar KS, conference chair of RTIMES 2023 offered the vote of thanks. Prof Vivek Vijay Kumar, department of Marine Engineering was the master of ceremonies.
