Udupi, May 16: The department of mechanical & industrial engineering of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, recently organised a day-long workshop on 'Natural Circulation Loops - Theory and Applications' (NCL – 2023).

The programme was sponsored by the department of science and technology, New Delhi. Dr P K Vijayan, professor – IIT Jammu, Dr Sathyashankara Sharma, head - department of mechanical & industrial engineering, MIT, were present during the inaugural function. Dr Arunachala U Chandavar, professor and convenor, briefed the importance of the workshop. Dr Madhwesh N, associate professor and co-convenor, was the master of the ceremony for the event.

The goal of the event was to spread awareness about the necessity and benefits of renewable energy and sustainable technologies. Eminent researchers from different IITs and MIT Manipal delivered lectures in the allied field. A renewable energy laboratory visit was arranged to comprehend the state-of-the-artfacilities available. Over 25 participants from neighbouring districts and other states attended the programme.
