Mangaluru, May 13: A private bus collided with KSRTC bus at Mukka junction in the city as its tyre got punctured on Friday May 12. Around 30 passengers in both buses got injured and were admitted to private hospital. It is learnt that many left after getting first aid.
The private bus was arriving from Udupi to Mangaluru and the KSRTC bus was going to Kushtagi from Mangaluru.
A private hospital which is a stone’s throw from Mukka junction did not provide an ambulance to shift the injured passengers.
The public who urged the hospital to provide ambulance service said, “We appealed to the hospital authorities to provide an ambulance as it was within a stone’s throw from the site of the accident. At first, the hospital authorities said that the driver of the ambulance has gone out. Then we said that we can drive the ambulance ourselves but hospital authorities did not cooperate. After half an hour, an ambulance that arrived from somewhere else carried the injured to the hospital.”
