Mangalore, Jul 10: District unit of JD(S) organised a 'rasta roko' near the clock tower in Hampankatta here on Sunday July 10, demanding a CBI probe into the allegations against Deve Gowda and his family’s assets and in support of former chief minister Kumarswamy's fast.
JD(S) state secretary M G Hegde addressing the protestors said that CM Yeddyurappa had made baseless allegations against JD(S) leader Kumaraswamy, while also refusing to hand over the case to CBI.
Hegde added that the protest against BJP-led state government will continue in different forms in the coming days as per the directions from party leaders. He also said that on Monday July 11 another rasta roko will be held at State Bank area and subsequently in all taluk centres.
Protestors blocked the road for 15 minutes, however, there were only a handful of party workers on the occasion. JD(S) leader Shashidhar Shetty and others were present. Several policemen were deployed at the venue.
