Puttur, May 2: Dakshina Kannada Zilla SVEEP Committee Puttur, Taluk SVEEP Committee in collaboration with Rotary Puttur Elite and Rotaract Club, Bettampady, First Grade College performed ‘Voting Awareness Street Play’ for the students of Post Graduate Study Center of St Philomena College, Puttur.
Principal of St Philomena College, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro initiated the programme by playing ‘tamaki’ and said that the students and society need more awareness about voting and called for the best use of the opportunity to vote." Taluka panchayat chief executive officer and SVEEP committee officer Naveen Bhandari, Rotarian Oscar Anand, director of 'Samsara ‘Jodu Marg and journalist Mounesh Vishwakarma, Street Drama Artists, lecturers of Post Graduate Study Center and students were present on this occasion.
In the end, taluk panchayat chief executive officer and sweep committee officers Naveen Bhandari spoke and urged the students to exercise their rights with courage and self-respect without succumbing to any temptations.
Srimani, coordinator post graduate department of social work welcomed and proposed vote of thanks. The street play programme was coordinated by Yashwant Naik, coordinator post graduate department of commerce.
