Mangalore, Jul 3: The fast track court here on Saturday July 2 lambasted police and the CID for preparing additional charge sheets against Mohan Kumar, an accused in cases relating to murders of several women.
The court received two more separate charge sheets related to the murder of Anitha of Bantwal and Leelavathi of Belthangady. With this, the total number of charge sheets filed against Mohan Kumar rose to 13. Seven more charge sheets are yet to be filed.
Mohan in his statement said that he was not guilty in Anitha’s murder case and also submitted two appeals. The accused appealed that Anitha's murder case should be investigated and the jewellery robbed by him during the murder of a woman in Bajpe should not be handed over to the concerned until investigation is over.
The copy of the original confession by Mohan's at Puttur court is now replaced by a duplicate. The original confession statement was not available when asked by the court even though the information was earlier given to Puttur, Madikeri and Hassan. The court questioned this error by the police.
