Mphasis Employee Kidnap Case - Police Contemplate Guidelines to Cos on Security

Mangalore, Jun 22: Police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Wednesday June 22 has contemplated issuing guidelines to the companies on deployment of a security personnel in a cab that plies carrying a lone female employee. The alleged kidnap of Mphasis BPO employee Philomena by her estranged husband Kiran on Monday June 20 while she was on her way to the office in the company cab has led to the move by the commissioner.
Speaking to presspersons here Singh hinting at Kiran, who was arrested on Tuesday June 21 being 'obsessive' about his wife and that his urge to win her back provoked him to kidnap her. He also showed erratic and extreme behaviour during the course. The total arrest related to incident is six persons which includes five of Kiran's associates and arrests have been made under sections 342, 365, 368, 506 with IPC 34 along with the other related major sections, he informed.
The five persons arrested are identified as Vasanth Kumar, Dharmaprakash, Sathish, Mohandas and Yogish, all residents of Neermarga. Search is on for others who have involved themselves in the case such as persons funding the kidnap and lending the vehicle among others.
Police Ploy to Safeguard Kidnapper?
Meanwhile, there is a suspicion on involvement of police in the case, according to sources. It is alleged that Kankanady rural police station sub-inspector is shielding Kiran from being awarded severe punishment and also it was due to his close association with the officer that Kiran had threatened Philomena of her getting into trouble once he is out from prison.
Earlier when Daijiworld contacted Philomena she said that Kiran had used some chemical substance on her after which she fell unconscious. She also alleged Kiran of raping her.
