Mangaluru: International Women’s Day celebrated at Srinivas College of Pharmacy, Valachil

Mangaluru, Mar 9: Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district, local branch, Mangaluru in association with Srinivas College of Pharmacy has celebrated 'International Women’s Day' on March 8.

The programme was inaugurated by Sumana V S assistant, professor, department of chemistry, Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangaluru. She recalled female protagonist of Hindu epic who made a great impact on society. She also mentioned about how there is a woman behind every successful man, like wise there is a man behind every successful woman.

Dr A R Shabaraya, principal Srinivas College of Pharmacy and president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district wished the gathering and advised to take initiation to represent themselves in all sectors. He also mentioned how a woman plays different roles as a daughter, as a mother, as a sister, as a friend, and as a wife. She requires support and appreciation in all stages of life.

Dr E V S Subrahmanyam, professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and vice president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association, Dakshina Kannada district, Dr Padmavathi P Prabhu, professor, Bhavyashree T, Vineetha K, assistant professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and student council president, Thrupthi P Rai were present during the programme.

Dr Padmavathi P Prabhu, professor coordinated the programme. Josna Priya, welcomed and introduced the gathering. Nireeksha Shetty, anchored the programme and Thrupthi P Rai proposed the vote of thanks.
