Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School holds 'LCS Charity Mission'

Mangaluru, Feb 22: LCS Charity Mission, a collection drive was held from February 15 to 17 on the occasion of the silver jubilee inauguration programme and the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, Lourdes Central School's patroness.

Students from Kindergarten to class 8 whole heartedly participated in the collection drive. The class teachers instilled the value of sensitivity, kindness, and helpfulness in the minds of the little lourdites. The school assemblies were organized to enhance the value of sensitivity. Students were guided to bring groceries, bed linen and toiletries and the collected items were sent to Ashraya Girls Home, Bejai, Mangaluru, Sneha Sadan Rehabilitation Centre, Kaikamba, Jeevadhan HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Centre for women and children, Gurupur, Aloysian Boys Home Ullal, Little Sisters Of the Poor, Maroli, Mother Theresa home for the poor, Mangaluru.

Random acts of kindness make a big difference in the life of the children whom we instill values of being humane towards the needy. Students were appreciated for contributing to the LCS Birthday Fund. The collected amount was also gifted to the less fortunate children, poor and needy. The students were awarded with 'Principal’s Appreciation Certificate'.

Fr Robert D'Souza, principal Lourdes Central School, was touched by the humble gesture of the Lourdites and thanked the parents and the students for their generosity inhelping the under privileged.The students' benevolence towards the needy made the LCS Charity Mission, a successful one.
