Mangaluru, Feb 15: Youth Red Cross society unit and NSS unit of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences organized blood donation camp in association with KMC Hospital Blood Centre Jyothi Mangaluru and free medical check-up in association with Mangala Hospital at Mangala College campus on February 14.
The programme started with lightening the lamp by Dr Ranjitha Rao, medical officer KMC Blood Centre Jyothi Mangaluru, Prof Pratijna Suhasini GR, principal, Prof Geethalakshmi, vice principal, YRCS UNIT officer, Vijetha Sheena, lecturer and members Abhineetha, associate professor, Sharanya Amin, assistant professor, and NSS UNIT officer, Mithun Venugopal assistant professor and member, Jayanth Nayak, assistant professor, Dr Shailini S Rao and accompanied with Dr Marie Pinto, principal of New Mangala College of Nursing, Dr Bharath K Mangala College of Physiotherapy, Dr Dharmaraja K, admission officer and student welfare officer and student volunteers.
The camp was addressed by Dr Ranjitha Rao, medical officer KMC Blood Centre, Jyothi Mangaluru.
Tamil Selvan, research associate was the first donor of the camp and on this occasion. As many as 200 donors donated blood voluntarily.
Dr Ranjitha Rao, medical officer addressed the gathering and explained about benefits of blood donation.
The camp was hosted by Vijitha, student volunteer and vote of thanks was delivered by Nidhi, student volunteer.
