Murder of Mangalorean in Doha - Police Arrest Accused Sri Lankan

Doha, Jun 8: Reliable sources from Doha - Qatar have confirmed to daijiworld that the Doha police authority, in a quick operation, have arrested the accused in connection with the murder of 24-year-old Mangalorean last weekend.
Arif, from Puttur-Madikeri, border was killed in his residence last week by an unidentified Sri Lankan.
The Doha police who wasted no time in launching an operation to catch the accused have arrested a Sri Lankan national in connection with the case. It is learnt that more than one person was present at the time of the attack on Arif, who was sleeping in his room along with his brother Hameed. When he heard the knocking on his door at midnight, he opened it and the accused stabbed him at once.
Daijiworld has also leant from reliable sources that his brother awoke from his sleep and rushed out to find Arif wounded with several stabs. He was first arrested by the police for removing the knife from his brother's body.
Love affair behind murder?
People known to Arif, who spoke to daijiworld from Doha, said that Arif was close to a Sri Lankan girl who was also a friend of the accused Sri Lankan. This could be the main reason for the murder, it is suspected.
Arif's mortal remains are expected to reach Mangalore on June 8.
