Bengaluru, Jan 28: St Joseph's School CBSE celebrated the 74th Republic Day on January 26, on the topic 'Sanskriti Samagam- Potpourri of Cultures' with a feeling of patriotism and pride in glorifying the spirit of unity. This was based on the theme of 'Ek Bharat Shreshet Bharat'.
Sanskriti Samagam which was a spectacular idea by our school, is a way of celebrating Republic Day in an innovative and creative method that bringsfamily and friends together to get to know and experience the various kindof cultures in the whole of India . The school grounds was transformed into a village setup to bring about therustic charm. The event was formally inaugurated by hoisting the flag by the chief guest, Padma Shri K Y Venkatesh, special invitees profs HI CHI Boralingaiah, Siri Ganda Sreenivasamurthy, Ramesh, Chandu Gowda, Babu C Joseph, Arun Sivag and team, rector Fr Joseph D'souza, principal Fr Rohan D'Almeida, finance officer Fr John Lang Bosco followed by a bullock cart ride for the chief guest, rector, members of the management team and the PTA vice president Kamal around the venue.
It was followed by a series of interesting rural cultural performances like Mohini Aatam, Hulivesha, Manipuri dance, Ghoomar, Chanda, Melam, Kudiyas, Dragon dance, Sopana, Bamboostick dance, Dollu Kunitha/Keelu Kudure, Bhangra, Yakshaghana, Dandiya, Swaha Band and last but not the least the epic grand finale performance. The Sanskriti Samagam is one of a kind celebration that is hard to forget. Everything was made possible by the efforts of the dedicated and motivating principal, staff, students and the non-teaching staff of the school.
