Mangaluru, Jan 15: Autorickshaw driver Purushottam Poojary who was injured in the cooker bomb blast that occurred at Nagori in the city on November 19 was discharged from the hospital on Saturday, January 14 as he has recovered completely.
Dr Uday Kumar K, medical superintendent of Fr Muller’s hospital, where Purushottam was treated informed that Purushottam is cured completely but he needs to stay inside home for at least a month in order to avoid any infection.
Purushottam’s house is being repaired by Guru Beladingalu Foundation and his family lives in a rented house now.
Though home minister Araga Jnanendra promised compensation from the government, the same has not yet been received by Purushottam. He has received Rs 50,000 given personally by the home minister and Rs 25,000 from minister Sunil Kumar.
Sources said that the medical treatment expenses of Purushottam were borne through ESI and some part by the government.
